Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ConvertToUnit, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website or the mobile app.
The Service
ConvertToUnit provides unit conversion tools, calculators, reference pages (including convert and wiki content), and related utilities. The website is a static client-side experience hosted on Cloudflare. The mobile app is a native Flutter application that stores preferences and history locally and may request live FX and show ads.
ConvertToUnit does not currently offer user accounts, cloud sync, paid subscriptions, or professional advisory services.
Informational Tools Only
All converters and calculators are provided for general informational and convenience purposes. Results are estimates or mathematical transformations based on the inputs and formulas we publish. They are not official determinations for commerce, engineering sign-off, customs clearance, tax filing, medical use, or legal compliance.
Conversion Accuracy
We strive to keep unit relationships and calculator logic correct, but ConvertToUnit is provided "as is." Rounding, unit definitions, regional conventions, and edge cases can produce differences from other tools or official tables. Always verify critical values with an authoritative source before relying on them.
Live FX Disclaimer
Live currency rates are obtained from a third-party endpoint (open.er-api.com) and may be cached locally or in-session. Rates can be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable. FX outputs are not trading quotes, bank rates, or investment recommendations. Do not use ConvertToUnit as the sole basis for financial decisions.
Financial & Margin Tools
Percentage, margin, and related finance helpers are mathematical utilities only. They do not constitute accounting, investment, or business advice. You remain responsible for applying correct rates, fees, and accounting rules for your situation.
Customs & Tax Calculator
The customs / duty calculator is a simulation. Duty and VAT rates are typically entered by you. Actual customs outcomes may include brokerage, handling, consumption tax, anti-dumping duties, and other local fees not modeled by the tool. Results are informational only and are not a substitute for official customs guidance or a licensed customs broker.
No Professional Advice
Nothing on ConvertToUnit is legal, tax, financial, engineering, medical, or other professional advice. Consult a qualified professional for decisions that could affect your rights, finances, safety, or compliance obligations.
Third-Party Services
The Service depends on third parties such as Cloudflare (hosting/CDN), Google (Analytics and advertising), and open.er-api.com (FX data). Their availability, accuracy, and policies are outside ConvertToUnit control. Links to family sites or external resources are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement of every third-party practice.
Advertising
The website displays Google AdSense advertisements. The mobile app is planned to display Google Mobile Ads / AdMob inventory with Google UMP consent where applicable. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on region, consent, and Google settings. Advertising networks are governed by Google's terms and privacy policies in addition to these Terms.
Intellectual Property
ConvertToUnit branding, site design, app UI, and original content are owned by ConvertToUnit / its operators or used under license. You may use the Service for personal or internal reference. You may not scrape at abusive scale, republish substantial portions as your own product, reverse engineer the app for competing redistribution, or remove proprietary notices, except as allowed by applicable law.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Misuse the Service to harm others or violate law.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer systems beyond ordinary use.
- Circumvent security, consent, or advertising integrity mechanisms except through documented user controls.
- Represent ConvertToUnit outputs as official government, bank, or professional determinations.
- Use automated access in a way that degrades service for others or violates third-party API terms.
Availability
We aim for reliable access but do not guarantee uptime, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation. Features may change, pause, or end without notice. Network, CDN, FX API, or advertising outages may affect functionality.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ConvertToUnit and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including reliance on conversion results, FX rates, margin calculations, or customs estimates.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid ConvertToUnit for the Service in the three months before the claim (currently typically zero, as the Service is free) or (b) USD 50, to the extent such a cap is enforceable.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; in those places, limitations apply only to the maximum extent allowed.
Changes to the Service
We may modify features, formulas presentation, advertising, third-party integrations, or these Terms. Material updates to these Terms will be reflected by revising the "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Privacy
How information is handled is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of your understanding of the Service.
Contact
These Terms apply to both the ConvertToUnit website and mobile app.
A dedicated public support email is not published in the repository at this time. Until the owner designates a monitored contact address, the published contact surface is https://converttounit.com.
Governing law: no specific legal jurisdiction or registered entity is confirmed in the ConvertToUnit repository. These Terms are written in a jurisdiction-neutral manner. If a governing law and venue are later designated by the operator, this section will be updated accordingly.
